Day 1
The winning team (2 persons) will fly from the airport nearest their home, economy class, to Lima, Peru. There they will be met by a guide and escorted to their hotel. In Lima, they will stay at the Casa Andina, a 3-star hotel, double room accommodation.
Day 2
The team will visit the A Mano, a small private museum devoted to Incan textile art, where they will be introduced to Peruvian textile production history. This will be followed by lunch at La Mar, an innovative restaurant featuring seafood and Peruvian cuisine. Then it’s on to the Pueblos Joevenes, where an agrarian engineer is turning the poor districts of Lima green. The day ends in the artists’ quarter, Barranco.
Day 3
The team will visit several hessnatur suppliers, showing the products they produce for hessnatur. Additionally, there will be a demonstration of hand knitwear machines.

Day 4
Today the team will take a trip to the Islas Ballestas to visit the seals and Humbolt penguins. Afterwards they will explore the surrounding area of Lima, visiting the organic cotton fields and a cotton ginning factory. In the evening, they will fly from Lima to Arequipa, economy class. A guide will escort them to the 3-star Casa Andina/Arequipa, double room accommodation.

Day 5
In Arequipa, the team will observe the finishing process of alpaca/wool yarns in accordance with hessnatur standards.

Day 6
A day off in Arequipa, where visits to the Mummy Juanita Museum and the historic abbey, Santa Catalina, are highly recommended.
Day 7
The team will be driven to an alpaca ranch in the Andes Mountains. A delicious dinner will await them at the Mallkini Lodge, where they will stay overnight in a double room accommodation.

Day 8/9
Hands-on days at the ranch, where the team will experience the feeding and shearing of the alpacas. There will plenty of free time to explore the fantastic surroundings. Another 2 nights at the Mallkini Lodge.

Day 10
In Puno they will visit the rural ecological tourism project on the Capachica Peninsula. Then it’s on to Lake Titicaca, one of the highest navigable lakes in the world and home to the exquisite landscapes of past cultures. This is the home of the Quechua Indians. While in Puno, the team will stay at the 3-star Casa Andina/Puno, double accommodation room.

Day 11
The feature of the day is a boat trip on Lake Titicaca to the island of Amantini. In the evening the team will return to Puno.
Day 12
A bus will take the team from Puno to Cusco, through La Raya Pass (14,172 feet), the ruins of Raqchi and the church of Andahuaylillas. In Cusco the team will stay at the 3-star Casa Andina/Cusco.

Day 13
The first half of the day a guide will take the team for a tour of Cusco, stopping at the sun temple of Coricancho, the Kenco ruins, Tambomachay, Sacsayhuman and, finally, the Casa Egologica project, where volunteers teach English, work on farms and help with honey production.

Day 14
The team will travel by train to Aquas Calientes, staying at the Hotel Presidente in a double room accommodation.
Day 15
From Aquas Calientes, the team will travel by bus to the famed ruined city of Machu Picchu, where a guide will lead them on a exploration of the ruins. Then it’s back to Aquas Calientes by bus and to Cusco by train.

Day 16
The day is given to a guided tour of the Urubamba Valley, including the colorful market in Pisaq and the ruins of Ollantaytambo. Overnight the team will stay in the 3-star Casa Andina/Cusco.

Day 17
Bidding farewell to Peru, the team will fly from Cusco to Lima and then connect to their flight home, economy class.
